Polar Bear Plunge Blog Hop

Another year, and another set of fun blog hops to participate in! This month’s theme features bears, blues and anything cold. For this blog hop I wanted to try out my newly formed YouTube channel. I have made for you a video tutorial showing you how I made my Polar Bear Plunge Blog Hop Project. If you watch it, wait till the end when a special little guest star interrupts my filming. It was so cute I decided that I would keep it in the video and not do a retake!

My project is a snow globe mini quilt that uses Crafter’s Edge snowflake die as well as Thermoweb’s deco foil transfer sheets. In my video, I show you the steps I took to make this project. I have also included the pattern of just the snow globe below for those who might have other fun ways to use it.

Please ENJOY!

  1. This is just the coolest! I’ve never played with deco foil before, but it looks like I might just be needing to do that now! Thanks for sharing the pattern and video on just how to do it. You rock!

  2. Thank you for the snow globe pattern and you did a nice job on the video, bonus scene…sweet!

  3. Julia, I love your snowflakes snow globe and even if the foil didn’t adhere properly, it has a cool look to it, almost a grunge style. Your daughter is so adorable! How sweet she made something for you and I don’t blame you a bit for leaving that part of the video in. Years from now you will look back at that video and cherish seeing her so young. They grow soooo fast!!!!!!!!!!!!! Seems like yesterday my daughter and son were that age and now they are 38 and 35!!!! Even my grandson grew up in a blink of an eye (he’s 14).

  4. I love this snowflake mini quilt and how you used the Decofoil on it. It turned out beautiful! I have some of those foils but haven’t used them in awhile. Your special guest in the video is adorable! Thank you for sharing, Julia!

  5. Super cute project for the Hop!! Using your snowflake cutting die made the piece all the more special. Thanks for offering the pattern download for us to make our own snow globes!

  6. The video was an excellent way to join the the PBP hop. Enjoyed seeing the process. I’ve never used the foil but it does look like fun. Great project. Thanks.

  7. Such a cute snow globe. Deco Foil is always a fun way to liven up a project. It adds just the right amount of sparkle.
