My name is Julia and this blog started as a way for me to choose joy. I have always had a passion for arts and crafts. I actually studied three dimensional arts in college with a focus on pottery and fiber art. However, that is where it ended….Until now.
In March 2020, I was one of millions who lost their job to the corona virus pandemic. I am the center director of an adult day care center that specializes in serving seniors who want to remain in their homes as long as possible but need socialization or adults with cognitive issues such as dementia that live with their adult children or spouse who need to work or want respite. I am fortunate that my job is waiting for me when my line of work is able to reopen.–edit 7/20/20–Unfortunately my Adult Day Care Center was chosen to not reopen. However, this unfortunate event has been a blessing in disguise. It has allowed me to peruse one of my many passions–fiber arts.
I named my site Inflorescence Designs because of the meaning of inflorescence. Inflorescence is a botanical word with several meanings but ultimately it means starting to bloom. I am starting on a journey. Beginning to bloom with what brings me joy. Whether you have been on this journey with me from the beginning or are just joining, I am thankful you are here!
