Avatar the Last Air Bender

A little fun fact about me: I LOVE Avatar the Last Air Bender.

Not the tall blue creatures from the Moon Pandora.

For those who do not know, Avatar the Last Air Bender was a Nickelodeon kids show back in the 2000’s. I did not watch it when it first came out, so I am not what you would call an original fan, but I fell in love when my kids started watching it on Netflix a few years back.

I didn’t watch it at first, as I was always busy in the kitchen, but I listened to it. I think listening to the show is what really got my attention. The themes, and the continuity throughout all three seasons made me want to visually see it.

So, I told my husband, who likes cartoons that we needed to watch it together. We did. And since then, we have watched it multiple times including the sequel “The Legend of Korra.” (Which also has great continuity and themes.)

We also chose to watch the movie…. bad idea. The movie was so far off it made me want to turn it off the entire time. If you are someone who has only seen the movie, I suggest you watch the animation. But I digress.

I am posting today because the long-awaited Netflix “Avatar the Last Air Bender” is releasing tomorrow! With the movie debacle, makers of the Netflix show knew they had a fan base to contend with and I have the highest hopes for tomorrow. I know some things will be changed but from what I have heard I like the possible changes.

So, to celebrate I am releasing my Elements pattern for FREE!

The Elements Pattern includes, Aang, Katara, Toph, Sokka and Zuko. They measure 12″ or 24″ finished and are traditionally pieced.

If you need help reading my patterns, check out my YouTube Channel for a video on how to work through it.
