Tell Me a Story

Back in March I joined another “Tell Me a Story” (TMAS) block swap. The TMAS swap is hosted by the pattern designer Amy Friend. You can find the pattern in her book Intentional Piecing. I love doing this swap. You make 20 blocks (2 different ones) and send 2 blocks to 9 people. In return, you receive 2 blocks from each of those individuals resulting in 20 blocks. Sometimes there are themes; like the swap I participated for fall/Halloween (you can find that HERE). But this swap was anything goes.

I actually finished this quilt back in May, but my blog schedule was so full (and I only try to post once a week) that I am just now getting to share it with you. I did all of the assembly and extra blocks back in April at a quilt retreat I attended. I pondered how I wanted to assemble this quilt, so it was different than my last TMAS quilt. I finally decided on making the bias tape “roads.” My children like to use the TMAS quilt as a game of storytelling. However, to make it more tangible they like to use characters and making the roads to the next set of blocks was the perfect idea to keep their creative stories going. My girls and I are actually in the process of creating a GAME with rules and everything…stay tuned!

I hope you enjoyed reading about my newest TMAS quilt. There will definitly be more in the future. I have blocks I received last December as part of a Christmas/Winter theme swap which will debut Later in July. Thanks for joining me!

Happy Sewing.
