Quilt of Valor Celebration

On April 28, 2024 the quilt group I am a part of (The Mason Star Quilters) held a Quilt of Valor Ceremony for 2 very special veterans.

The Mission of the Quilts of Valor® Foundation is to cover Service Members and Veterans touched by war with comforting and healing Quilts of Valor. My husband and his best friend were awarded Quilts of Valor for their bravery and service to our country.

Most veterans who receive their quilts do not know who pieced, quilted and bound them. These men know me (I pieced and bound the quilt) and actually got to meet the woman who quilted them as well. It was so special!

This beautiful Lone Star Quilt was my first attempt at one. I love how it turned out. It is made using a variety of batik fabrics. I made this one for my husband.

This next quilt is a bit busier and was made with a few layer cakes. The pattern is the Confetti Star Quilt by the Material Girlfriends. I made this quilt for my husband’s best friend.

I am so proud of them and blessed that I was able to make their quilts for them.

  3. Thank you for what you do. My husband was a recent recipient of a quilt of valor – it gets used on an almost daily basis.❤️
