Orange You Glad Bonus Post!

Hello!

I created this project after my first Blog Hop post was already complete. But since it fits into the description of the hop I wanted to share it along side my original post.

If you are reading this post you either found my link on my Banana Beach Bag post or you joyfully explored more of my blog and found it that way. Either way, if you are here you have a chance to win a prize!

To enter, leave a comment on both this post and my other “Orange You Glad” Blog Hop tutorial. You can find it here. The prize will be a set of 4 coasters like the one you see below (multiple colors coming). The winner will be announced August 31, 2021! Give away has ended and the winner is announced at the bottom of this post!

Enjoy this tutorial using the Crafter’s Edge Crossover II. I used the 5″ hexagon die as well as the little seed from the Fruit Wedges kit.

Supplies:

  • Fabric
  • Heat n Bond light
  • Crafter’s Edge Crossover II machine
  • Crafter’s Edge Hexagon die set 1″ increments
  • Fruit Wedges die set
  • Basic sewing supplies

Using the 5″ hexagon, cut out 3 light yellow, 3 dark yellow and 1 background hexagon.

Fold and press all the hexagons in half leaving the background unfolded.

For this applique, I used Heat N Bond light.

Using the Fruit Wedges die set, use the seed die and cut out 6 coordinating pieces.

The Prize!

Happy Sewing!

  2. Sweet coasters! I’ve made them this way with squares but not hexies. Great idea! (Not sure why I overlooked this in your other post–glad you pointed it out to me.)

  3. Love your coasters, I have made them before using squares and circles. Now I have to try hexie’s. Thank you for the pattern.

  4. LOVE the orange coasters. As the granddaughter of a Southern California Sunkist growers, my hearts leaps at the sight of citrus. Thanks for the chance to win it, but I will probably have to make my own now….
