Crafter’s Edge dies are so versatile. You can use them for an entire project or just for a small detail.
Today I want to share how I used the Mini Circle Set 2 to make my sewn zipper pouch a little extra special.

The zipper pouch I made was designed by Geta Grama. You can find the pattern I used as well as many other amazing patterns here.
To make the embellishment, you will need to tailor it to whatever pattern you choose to make.
A good thing to think about are seam allowances. For my zipper pouch I measured and marked my seam allowances to make sure my embellishment lined up correctly and I wouldn’t have bulky seams.
Mermaid & Dragon Scales Embellishment Tutorial:
Materials:
- Assorted felt
- Crafter’s Edge Crossover II Machine
- Mini Circle Set 2-1″ circles (You can choose any size depending on your project and the look you want.)
- Pins, Pins, Pins
- Pouch or project you plan to embellish
- General Sewing supplies

To make the binding, I took a 2 1/2″ piece of homemade binding and cut it a little longer than the pouch. I pressed the 2 1/2″ in piece half long ways and used the fold line as my guide to then fold the two edges to the center and then folded it in half.

Below is my finished project. I used the “Snap Pouch with Zipper Pattern” and you can purchase the pattern here.

Happy Sewing!
