THE CHALLENGE: Sew your project with dog themed fabric or applique/embroidery of dogs. As an added challenge, if dogs don’t ring your bell, think vintage. Vintage blocks, quilts, fabrics, or whatever old designs makes you happy.
Hello everyone!
First of all, I must admit that I am a cat kind of person. I grew up having cats but never a dog. My first ever dog is this old guy. His name is Zeezo. He is currently 11 years old. My husband and I got him back in 2012.
My husband has had dogs before but when we got him my husband was off doing military stuff on a regular basis and therefore Zeezo was left to me to train. We’ll let me tell you, I did not know what I was doing. I thankfully got him potty trained but that was about it. I didn’t know you had to socialize your dog with other dogs, so he is not good around other dogs except ones that are about the same size and female.
For today’s challenge I wanted to make something special for my dog. He never really liked store bought treats, so my youngest daughter and I attempted to make homemade dog treats with pumpkin and peanut butter! You can find the recipe HERE. Conclusion on the homemade treats: HE LOVES THEM!
For the sewing aspect of this hop I made a cute little cover for the jar that his treats are stored in. I used the tutorial I made for Thermoweb minus the liquid vinyl. You can find out how to make your own HERE.

I’m sure Zeezo is very happy you adorned, and filled, his treat jar!
Zeezo is a lucky guy. Great treats and a fun storage for them!
This is such a cute idea and a sweet way to spoil your dog…love it! My new dog, Charlie, acts like he’s a German Shepherd on guard duty when other people come around. He sounds so vicious and tries to attack their ankles. He definitely needs some socializing! Thanks for sharing your doggy project, Julia, and beautiful pics!
Your daughter is adorable! I have a good friend that makes treats for her dogs. Thanks so much fort sharing
