May is has finally arrived and has already been here for over a week. I don’t know about you, but May seems busier and crazier than December. Every weekend I am booked solid, from required training for summer events, church events, birthday parties and my annual Girl Scout camping adventure. This month we also celebrated my daughter Dahlia’s First Communion.
On May 1st she received the Lord for the first time. She worked so hard all year long in her religion classes and this was the pinnacle of her religious education for second grade. What was also so special was she wore my First Communion dress and veil. She looked so beautiful in it. I had my First Communion in 1997 and I guess frills and poofs were in. I decided I needed to update the dress just a bit, so I took off the 2 rows of lace and the poofy sleeves. I am happy how it turned out and if my youngest doesn’t outgrow her sister (which she is already on her way) she will also wear the dress.
