CHALLENGE: Late snow showers, rain showers, baby showers, wedding showers. What do you like to shower everyone with?
I like to shower my girls with all the things I make. Each of them have several quilts, bags, toys…you name it. Earlier this month, I made a stuffed unicorn for my April Island Batik challenge. The stuffed unicorn was intended for my youngest. You can read all about it HERE.
Since I love to shower my girls with all the things I make, I knew I needed to make another stuffed animal friend for my eldest daughter.
I challenged myself with Patch the Patchwork Pussy Cat from Funky Friends Factory. I used all scraps from my Island Batik scrap bin (crazy to think I already have a bin and I have only been an ambassador since January!)
This patchwork cat was definitely a challenge. It has a lot of tight curved pieces, so I had my glue stick come to my rescue. I love glue basting curves.
To help stabilize the batik fabric and give it just a little more “feel”, I used Thermoweb’s Soft Woven Fusible Adhesive for Batiks. I finished this little kitty off by making it a collar and adding a bow and flower using Benzie Felt.
While making this stuffie was definitely a challenge, I love the way it turned out. Since I took the little unicorn stuffie to the park for some photos, I wanted to also do the same with this little kitty. This time however, both Celestial Reign (the unicorn) and Rayleigh Eclipse had adventures TOGETHER!
The Adventures of Rayleigh Eclipse and Celestial Reign
Rayleigh Eclipse and Celestial Reign are best friends. One damp spring morning they decided to go to the local park and try out the new playground!
It was a lot of fun! They took turns sliding down the slides.
As well as, racing through the tunnels.
They even tested their balance on whatever these things are called!
They had so much fun together. When they got home they decided to play hide and seek in the front yard. Rayleigh loves to hid in the Tulips.
It ‘is’s always fun to play with friends. The end.
